The Need

Indian River County needed to convert organic waste streams into safe, valuable, and marketable end products. Using a Shelter Structures custom designed building, NuTerra enclosed the compost receiving, mixing, and processing areas within one structure.

The Intention

The cost effective and durable 133’ by 471’ structure was designed to protect compost processes and simultaneously provide storage facilities. The shelter was constructed using a galvanized MQ frame and is designed to resist winds exceeding 150 mph. The exterior fabric membrane is a 28 oz. /sq. yd. PVC coated fabric and provides warranted durability, UV protection, and cost-effectiveness.
